Not too high Icarus!

Trying not to get ahead of ourselves as we celebrate his lower output. Since his diet is advancing, that gives way for more chylous drainage. This is different than the drainage we were battling in past days. So as one has slacked off, another has shown itself. We do feel we are in a better position than past days though. They will be starting a medicine to help slow this down. I have not been able to talk a Dr. about his repeat chest x-ray yet, so no report at this time.

He was able to have all of the lines removed previously mentioned. He had a neck dressing change and since the unit is full, and very busy, he got a new bed. His other bed was needed for a critical patient. This was actually good because the nurses got to hold him for a while and he liked that a lot! They told us he was very relaxed. he has been asking us to hold him regularly. We have been doing all that we can. Our hamstrings are tired and sore due to all of the leaning over to comfort him.

Due to the ICU being busy we had to leave a few times today. They are strict here and when a surgery pt arrives the unit is cleared. It is also cleared for shift change. We are in a private room since he is older than most children in the PCICU. They tend to allow those parents to stay since it is more soothing for child. In the past we have been allowed to stay, but not today. We were very worried for him but he did do well. Unfortunately we had to leave while feeding him dinner and he was not interested when we returned a couple hrs later (he still got tube feeds). With all of the going and coming today we have had less interaction with his Drs. John will get the scoop on the night train.

We forgot our PC so we are giving everyone an update late today. To make up this we are including pictures! Pray for that checkered flag!
