Day 2

Noah did great over the night. John got home around 7 am and went to bed. He was up for close to 27 hours straight yesterday. I got some sleep, but not real rested. I got here around 9 am right after nurse change. Noah had eaten some cherrios and a little bit of yogurt. He has held everything down, but has complained that his tummy hurt. It could either be nausea or a way of telling us his body hurts. Either way they are giving him meds for this. My mom and dad got to come see him while he was awake. Even Isabel spent some time with him. We weren't sure if we should, but both wanted to see each other, so the nurse arranged it. He has been awake since 10 am and we are watching his favorite show, Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! He had a brief fussy period when he woke up because he wanted his arm board and IVS off. They had to give him a little bit of morphine to calm him down and he has been fine since. The surgeon was in and said he looked good and comfortable and his chest tubes are draining good. He has a middle drain that will be removed after a certain amount of fluid is collected. Their goal is to move him to a floor by tomorrow (Sunday), but my goal is later today. We will see. Sometimes they over estimate so not to get your hopes up. I have learned this over years here, which I totally understand. I just want the best for him. Until later.....
