We have a date

Noah's heart catherization has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 28th. As of now, we are first case, but as time gets closer, we could be bumped to second case. I know that first cases are reserved for infants and serious illnesses and I am thankful that we are not in a critical position, but I REALLY hope we don't get bumped. Noah has to go into the procedure with an empty stomach and if his cath is bumped, he will not be able to eat until it's his turn. Hospitals are on a whole different kind of time, so it could be hours before he is seen. It's hard explaining to a child why he can't eat!! Anyway, the most important thing is we get through the heart cath with no complications. The likelihood of a complication developing is small and is compared to a tonsillectomy. We do have to stay one night as a precautionary measure. We are planning on taking Isabel with us since her birthday is the next day. We will have to split up that night and hopefully Noah can be discharged that morning. If he is up to it, we would like to spend the rest of the weekend in Charleston, but we will have to play that by ear. As always, we will update you with a play by play while we are down there.
