We have also tried to get outdoors more. One Sunday, we went up to the Lake Jocassee area and played and also hiked to a near by waterfall. The kids loved seeing the waterfall up close, however, I was nervous that they would slide down the big rock.
It's hard to see, but Noah has a huge pee stream going.
My dad, the kids and John made it all the way to the top of the waterfall.
We have also been enjoying the neighborhood pool alot. Isabel is even on the swimteam. She is an official "Guppy". She is doing excellent and the coaches are great with them. She has finally learned to swim and is not scared to go in the deep end.
We had a huge birthday bash for Nancy (John's mom). She turned 60 this month and one of Steve's last requests was to continue on with the surprise party that he had been planning. We had a great time. It was both emotional and exciting for her. She was definitely surprised. We had it at Stephanie's club with family and friends there to celebrate. John and his brother made the main dish, a spaghetti dinner. Family helped out with side dishes and desserts. Everything came together great. We even had live music. The kids really loved dancing to that, but I am sure Bill, the musician, was used to a different kind of crowd. I am just glad the kids didn't request "The Wheels on the Bus". Look at the shocked look on her face.
And one other thing to mention. If anyone has ever heard me talk about the sidewalk sale at the old Ingles, this is what you are missing out on. I bought all of this stuff for $20. One of the big finds was hidden under a few boxes of oatmeal. I got about 10 large jars of Mr. Peanut peanuts. How awesome is that!
